Salem Tours

With so much to see and do around Marion County, it can be hard to pick just one activity to fill your weekend. Fortunately, you don’t have to. With our selection of popular tours around the area, you can choose several and take yourself on an adventure or leave the driving to someone else.

EMBRACE OREGON

Located in McMinnville, OR, west of Woodburn, Embrace Oregon offers a variety of custom tours that take visitors to areas of interest like the Columbia River Gorge, the Oregon Coast, seasonal local garden tours and more. And, because the owners are fifth generation Oregonians, they also offer suggestions for after the tour, such as the best places to eat in Portland, and the best places for antiquing in Eugene, making it an ideal package for visitors who want a local perspective.

MARION COUNTY FARM LOOP

If you prefer a more self-guided tour of the area, the Marion County Farm loop may be for you. The circuit takes visitors on a journey around the Salem-Keizer area where they can explore a variety of unique farms and orchards, pick fresh produce, purchase flowers, sample home-baked goods, and pick up unique craft gifts as a memento of their visit to the valley. Sights and offerings vary depending on the time of year and range from crisp greens to super-sweet berries and fruits, as well as hand-crafted ciders, ales, and wines.

BUENA VISTA CYCLING ROUTE

If your idea of holiday fun is jumping on two wheels and pedaling along scenic trails through stunning landscapes, then the Buena Vista Route is a great place to start. The ride takes visitors along Highway 22 through the small towns of Independence, Monmouth, and Rickreall past farms, vineyards, and other local attractions, providing a backdoor view most tourists don’t get to see.

CENTURY FARM EQUESTRIAN CENTER

Century Farm, located in Lebanon, OR just south of Albany, is an excellent choice for horse lovers and families looking for a unique camping experience. Sleep under the stars in a genuine Tee Pee, or bring your own gear and enjoy one of the 100 tent/trailer spaces. Visitors are invited to schedule a class to learn more about the animals and enjoy a tour of the more than 80 acres of wood and meadowlands.
